Hazrat Ayub رضی اللہ عنہا narrates that once the Holy Prophet ﷺ was on a journey. A villager appeared and held the reins of his she camel. He said: “O Allah’s Messenger ﷺ! Tell me about the thing that will close me towards Jannh (heaven) and distant me from the fire of Jahannum (hell).” The narrator says that the Holy Prophet ﷺ stopped. He ﷺ then looked towards his ﷺ companions and (while getting their attention) said: “he got good opportunity” or said: “he sought great guidance.” Then He ﷺ responded to the villager: “Yes. Say again what you have said earlier.” The person repeated his question again. The Holy Prophet ﷺ then replied: “Just show your subservience to Almighty and do not pard anything with him, continue offering your prayers, paying Zakaat and being compassionate. You can now leave the reins of the she camel.” (Muslim Shareef)
From Muslim Shareef, in another version of the same Hadith there is an addition at the end which is:
When the villager left, the Holy Prophet ﷺ said: “If this man will continue practicing all these commands with steadfastness, he will certainly be blessed with Jannah.”
May Allah Almighty bless all Muslims to follow this will of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and grant us Jannah. Ameen.
Benefit: From this Hadith, we can deduce the compassionate characteristic of the Holy Prophet ﷺ in such a manner that the Holy Prophet ﷺ was on a journey while riding his she camel. All of sudden and a totally strange villager appears and asks a question while holding the reins of the camel. The Holy Prophet ﷺ does not get upset by this attitude of the villager rather appreciates his desire for the knowledge of religion. And after replying him says: “ Okay now you can leave the reins of the she camel.” Allah o Akbar. What is Prophecy ! It is a complete package of compassion and affection.
